2012 is the National Year of Reading and to celebrate that, on Mondays we will have Reading @ Recess in the Library at – you guessed it- recess. This starts Monday 27th February and will continue every second Monday for the rest of the year.

Last term for Literacy and Numeracy week we had teachers reading their favourite books in the library. There was a big demand for the books that were read afterwards. The day was very successful and next year being The Year of Reading, this is going to become a regular event. Mr Saxon read ‘Winnie the Pooh’.He says its a book for all ages and a lot of ideas in it are still interesting and relevant as an adult.

Miss Papps read 'Changes'

Miss Papps read the picture book ‘Changes’ by Anthony Brown to some of our senior students. A picture book to seniors you might say! Well, don’t diss the picture book; many of them are quite sophisticated and enjoyable at any age.

Mrs Hayward read 'The Invention of Hugo Cabret'

Mrs. Hayward read ‘The Invention of Hugo Cabret’ which is an engrossing novel in words and pictures. I say words and pictures because its not really just a graphic novel, its a work of art.
